Simulation fellow curriculum

The Simulator Educator Curriculum grid was designed as a support tool to help those undertaking training in simulation to guide their knowledge and practical experiences, while considering what evidence they may wish to acquire if passionate about undertaking simulation within their future careers. While many accreditation guidelines exist, a formal training curriculum was not immediately available and given the increasing number of teaching fellow posts across the UK, developing a support tool for this group was desirable, considering the cohort can at be surprising unsupported.

The curriculum is mapped to the Association of Simulation Practice in Healthcare's (ASPiH) accreditation guidelines, in keeping with Health Education England's (HEE) SBE Strategy, while cross-referencing other International Education and Simulation Society guidelines, such as; the Higher Education Academy (HEA), the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME), the General Medical Council (GMC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Therefore, by working towards this curriculum, the evidence can be used to gain accreditation with any of the above organisations if the trainee wished, while also demonstrating excellent academic scholarship.
